The Zander Anglers Club was first an idea and later started by the Zander Guru Neville J Fickling in the Summer of 1991.
The Club was brought together to deal with issues surrounding the Zander itself and Zander Fishing in the UK.
At the time the ZAC was first started, the Zander population in the UK was mainly surrounded around the Fenland Area.
By now (2007) the Zander population has spread throughout most of the Larger Rivers, Drains and Canals in England and have settled in many stillwaters as well.
It is quite suprising when an angler reports a capture, and you think to yourself. I'd have loved to know how that got there. Without other anglers pointing the finger at you.
Because of this, our membership has also spread throughout the land.
In the early days, the Angling Specialist's had to travel from far and wide to the Fen Drains of Norfolk and Cambridgeshire just to have a chance of catching a Zander. Nowadays you can go just about anywhere south of Ferry Bridge on the A1.
The Zander Anglers Club Members contribute material that goes towards our twice yearly magazine called "THE SNAPPER".
The material content can be catch reports, a session, photo's, new rigs, water info, tackle tips, meet the members, zander facts, tackle tests and beginners help.
The current subs for the Zander Angling Club is only £11 a year. Plus we are affiliated to the SAA (Specialist Anglers Alliance) aswell.
Anybody that is interested in learning more about the Zander or catches Zander already and wants to join the club, please send your cheque or postal order to the address below, with a SAE.
